Qualcomm Flash Operations
Learn how to flash firmware on Qualcomm-based Xiaomi devices
Overview
Typhon Tool provides comprehensive support for flashing firmware on Qualcomm-based Xiaomi devices. The tool supports various flashing methods, including EDL mode (firehose), fastboot mode, and recovery mode flashing.
With the Qualcomm flash functionality, you can:
- Flash full firmware packages (fastboot or .tgz files)
- Flash individual partitions
- Read and write partition data
- Perform secure boot operations
Supported Flash Methods
EDL Mode (Emergency Download Mode)
EDL mode, also known as 9008 mode or Qualcomm download mode, provides low-level access to the device. Typhon Tool supports EDL mode flashing using Qualcomm's firehose protocol.
Fastboot Mode
Fastboot mode allows for flashing when the bootloader is accessible. This is the standard method for flashing many Xiaomi devices that have an unlocked bootloader.
Recovery Mode
For devices with a custom recovery installed, Typhon Tool can use ADB to push and flash firmware updates.
Flashing a Firmware Package
Follow these steps to flash a firmware package to a Qualcomm-based Xiaomi device:
Connect your Xiaomi device to your computer using a high-quality USB cable.
Depending on the flashing method, put your device in EDL mode, fastboot mode, or recovery mode. You can use the Typhon Tool's "Boot Mode" section to assist with this.
In Typhon Tool, navigate to the "Qualcomm" tab and select the "Flash" operation.
Click "Browse" to select your firmware package. Typhon Tool supports official Xiaomi firmware packages (.tgz) as well as custom firmware files.
Choose the appropriate flashing options based on your needs:
- Flash All: Flash all partitions in the firmware package
- Custom Selection: Select specific partitions to flash
- Erase Before Flash: Erase partitions before flashing (recommended)
- Verify After Flash: Verify data integrity after flashing
Click "Flash" to begin the flashing process. The tool will display a progress bar and log information during the operation.
The flashing process may take several minutes. Keep the device connected and do not interrupt the process.
Once flashing is complete, click "Reboot" to restart the device into the system.
Data Loss Warning
Flashing firmware will erase all data on the device. Always backup important data before proceeding with any flash operation.
Compatible Firmware
Always use firmware that is compatible with your specific device model. Using incompatible firmware may lead to a bricked device. Typhon Tool includes a firmware verification feature that checks compatibility before flashing.
